My buddy Shawn Forno and I came up with a fun idea one day.
We were hanging out in our work studio in Bushwick, messing around with projects of our own; editing, writing, etc. when we realized we should work on something together. I wanted to do a photo project, he a video. He remembered he once tried to walk the entire island of Manhattan, on Broadway, years ago. It was fun, he ate a lot of street hot dogs, got sick, threw up, called it a good day. I thought that was awesome. We wanted to recreate that day, minus the food poisoning. And this time we would document the shit out of it.
So before sunrise on the 16th of March, we took the subway up to the northernmost tip of Manhattan in Inwood (actually first stop in the Bronx cause we wanted to walk over Broadway Bridge), and then started our 13mi. trek (we walked 22mi. cause Manhattan is awesome and there are so many cool detours) southbound on Broadway to the very southernmost tip in Battery Park. It took us roughly 12 hours, sunrise to sunset. There wasn't an inch of our bodies that wasn't hurting by the end of the day, but it was worth every second. And we got a ton of great stuff out of it. Check it out, and enjoy!
